Intro to ceramic surface decoration using stencils, freehand drawing, wax resist, & underglaze colors

4-6 participants2 extra sessions to be used within 2 months of your first workshop to continue learning, doing more detailed work and practicing. They can be used during regular open studio session times, which are held weekly on Wednesdays (18:30-21:30) and Saturdays (10:30-13:30).
Materials included for all 3 sessions: 2 plates/mugs, 5 colors of glaze, access to underglazes, wax, stencils, firings, gift bag and silk tissue wrapping paper.
This is a mini course for those who want to learn all about underglazing, glazing, overglazing, wax resist, marbling, bubble glazing and other techniques used in ceramic decoration with pencils, brushes, stencils and freehand drawing.
Your items will be ready to be picked up within a week after your last session and will be food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher safe. -

This is an intensive 3-hour workshop for those who want to learn the ABCs of wheel-throwing with porcelain. You will be working with 500 to 750 grams of porcelain clay.
You may expect to make 2-4 objects big enough to be used as coffee cups or Japanese style big tea bowls, even in your first lesson, even if you've never touched clay or don't consider yourself artistic.
